Scandinavia’s largest shoe retail chain Eurosko has partnered with Avensia to develop a brand-new e-commerce platform supporting the group’s digital sales channels. The new solution will provide Eurosko with the capacity and flexibility needed to strengthen its competitive edge and drive long-term growth.

With inspiring stores, knowledgeable staff, and a wide assortment Eurosko focuses on delivering a good shopping experience to become the number one choice for families. The physical stores in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark have been the hub of the business throughout the company’s 100+ year’s history. Together with Avensia Eurosko now takes a big step towards the ambition to create the best omnichannel experience in the industry.

”Our stores will always be the most important part of our business, but Avensia helps us find the best way forward for using the digital channels to support the total customer experience”, says Torgeir Gulbrandsen, CEO at Eurosko.

Avensia and Eurosko will develop a new e-commerce platform leveraging a modular architecture, so-called composable commerce. This technology choice results in a flexible solution that can easily be adapted to future needs and changes in the market. To ensure a rapid and smooth start Eurosko will leverage Avensia Excite – a foundational platform that includes several pre-connected components and packaged integrations. This combination of flexibility, modern technology, and an experienced partner was important in Eurosko’s decision-making process.

”Our current e-commerce solution limits us, we need a modern technology platform that we can use for a long time and grow with”, says Hanne Løken Olsen, CMO at Eurosko. “But this type of technology and way of working are new grounds for us so we needed a partner who can support us with knowledge, experience, and technical expertise. Avensia was the strongest alternative compared to other well-known consultancies because they have helped several e-tailers make the move to a composable architecture and have solid know-how within the entire modern commerce landscape.”

Besides the technical platform, Avensia’s experienced team can also provide strategic advisory on internal processes and ways of working to create excellent customer experiences across all channels.

”We look forward to a productive and exciting collaboration with Eurosko”, says Robin Gustafsson, CEO at Avensia. “Our team has extensive experience helping similar omnichannel businesses to increase sales by leveraging each channel’s strengths to its full potential. I’m convinced that Eurosko’s customers will experience an even stronger brand in the future, thanks to the new, modern technology platform.”

Eurosko’s new e-commerce platform is developed with technology solutions from Avensia, commercetools, Contentful and Voyado. It will be integrated to Eurosko’s existing ERP and product information management (PIM) solution. The ambition is to launch new e-commerce sites for all brands within the Eurosko group starting around the year end 2023.
