Everfresh, a Swedish importer and wholesaler of fresh fruits and vegetables and part of Dole Nordic, partnered with Avensia to modernize their B2B e-commerce platform. With a complex customer base and advanced logistics needs, Everfresh needed a solution that could support operational efficiency while elevating customer experience. With the help of Avensia, Everfresh now leverages a modernized e-commerce platform that drives continued growth across the Nordic market.

Before starting this project, we considered several solutions and compiled our sales, marketing and IT needs internally. Avensia immediately understood what we needed and listened wholeheartedly to all our requirements. It was a great collaboration from the very beginning.
The goal

With around 1,300 B2B customers placing daily orders, Everfresh operates in a fast-paced, logistics-driven environment where timing and accuracy are critical. Orders are placed in advance for fresh produce that hasn’t yet arrived in stock, requiring frequent updates, substitutions, and precise stop times. Add to that multiple customer accounts per store, contract-specific pricing, and role-based permissions and it’s clear that the e-commerce platform handles a high degree of complexity and needs to be up-to-date and user-friendly. So, when Everfresh decided to upgrade their e-commerce solution, the company had several goals in mind:
- Drive sales by making the platform more user-friendly and sales-oriented
- Increase flexibility for customers through new features and functions
- Improve usability with better search, filtering, and content presentation
- Free up internal resources by enabling more customer self-service

The challenge
Meeting Modern Demands in a Fast-Paced B2B Environment
Everfresh had been relying on a dependable but simple e-commerce solution that served the business for many years. As the digital landscape evolved and customer expectations changed, it became clear that the existing platform had reached the limits of what it could support and was struggling to meet internal and external needs. While it had been a well-used and appreciated solution, it lacked flexibility and was no longer aligned with Everfresh’s external website or internal workflows.
To continue delivering excellent customer experiences and operate efficiently across their ERP and product information management (PIM) systems, an upgrade was essential.
Key improvement areas included:
- A need for a modern interface and a content management system (CMS) to enhance usability and internal efficiency
- Adding search, navigation and product inspiration features
- Stronger integration between content and commerce to support storytelling and customer engagement
- Enabling rich content formats including images and video, beyond just plain text and PDFs
- A dynamic interface that supports personalization and product discovery
- Smarter tools for managing customer-specific campaigns and messages
- Enhanced support for self-service and automation to reduce manual processes

The solution
More Visual. More Flexible. More Everfresh.
Everfresh, in collaboration with Avensia, unveiled a robust e-commerce solution powered by Avensia Nitro, built around Optimizely. The new solution brings real-time data handling and seamless integration with Everfresh’s internal systems, including their in-house ERP and PIM. A key focus for the new platform was improving ways of working and facilitating processes.
As part of the new solution, Avensia implemented Optimizely’s CMS, providing Everfresh’s with a brand-new way to take control of content and communication. At the same time, Avensia updated the platform’s front-end, aligning it with the company’s external website, offering a “same feel, new look” experience that elevated the interface while staying familiar to customers. To further enhance the customer experience, Avensia also implemented Optimizely Find for advanced search and indexing. Previously, the site had no search functionality, so this addition marks a significant step forward in usability and efficiency.
To further support Everfresh’s goals around accessibility and efficiency, Avensia built a fully mobile and tablet friendly interface as part of the new solution. Designed to meet the needs of users in-store, the portal ensures seamless access and functionality across devices, streamlining operations and enabling more flexible ways of working.

The results
A Smooth Transition to a Better, Faster Platform
Since launching in 2024, Everfresh has seen clear improvements in both customer experience and internal efficiency. The collaboration with Avensia has been shaped by strong teamwork and a clear vision to gradually modernize and streamline digital operations. With Avensia Nitro and Optimizely as part of the new setup, Everfresh now has a more flexible, inspiring and future-ready platform that better supports both business goals and daily work.
One of Everfresh’s top priorities was ensuring a smooth transition. By keeping the interface familiar but enriching it with better search, filtering, and usability, the onboarding process was seamless. Customers instantly recognized the portal but now experienced more intuitive order flows, faster access to information, and better communication. Thanks to mobile and tablet support, orders can now be placed directly from store floors, increasing flexibility and improving in-store efficiency. The mobile-friendly interface has also introduced new time-saving functions, such as the ability to upload Excel and PDF documents directly onto the platform.
Internally, the impact has been just as transformative. Everfresh has freed up significant time, especially for their sales team, enabling them to focus more on customer relationships and driving revenue.
Implementing a CMS has opened entirely new opportunities and offered Everfresh’s marketing team more creative freedom. With new content management capabilities, they can now easily share more visual material, communicate brand messages effectively, and inspire customers in ways that weren’t possible before. More dynamic and inspirational content across the site helps communicate the brand’s identity while driving sales and customer engagement.

Everfresh continues to work closely with Avensia receiving constant support and site maintenance. Avensia provides ongoing site updates, including bug fixes, performance improvements, feature enhancements, and new visual elements. This agile approach allows Everfresh to respond quickly to both internal and external demands, whether it’s adjusting functionality for key customers, or improving internal workflows.
