Armaturjonsson: Taking Product Information Management to the Next Level
Armaturjonsson went from three systems and disperse, manual processes for managing product information to a single PIM solution where all data is available. Avensia’s experienced team helped set up the structure and tools needed to regain control of the critical product information and save tons of valuable time throughout the organization.

Bluestone PIM

Armaturjonsson is a Norwegian market leader within piping systems for water-based heating, cooling, and tap water. Since 2021, they’ve partnered with Avensia to accelerate their digital transformation and stay ahead in modern commerce.
As a trusted player in the Nordic construction industry, they knew their digital setup needed to evolve to keep up with the growing complexity of product information and new demands on speed and scalability, so in 2025 Avensia and Armaturjonsson kicked off a new phase of this partnership, focused on transforming their product information management setup.
Their goal was to build a more streamlined and effective foundation for managing product data, one that supports growth, simplifies operations, and enhances the experience for both internal users and external partners.
With Avensia’s expertise, we’ve moved from a solid PIM setup to a future-ready architecture that supports both today’s needs and tomorrow’s requirements.
The Challenge
Like many companies with a mature digital operation, Armaturjonsson already had a solid product information management (PIM) system in place. However, with increasing demands on data quality, flexibility, and connectivity across platforms they needed help with being more in control over all the data in their PIM and becoming even more effective than they already were.
Armaturjonsson wanted:
- A standardized PIM that could easily connect with their other systems including their ERP, lowering total cost of ownership
- A more efficient way to manage product data coming in and going out
- Real-time updates across their website and CMS
- A future-ready setup that could support scale and smarter work across teams
Another key ambition was to optimize how new products were handled across their system landscape. Previously, products were created directly in their PIM. With the new approach, the ERP system would become the entry point, enabling a more aligned and efficient product data flow.
Having real-time updates across our website and other channels has been a game changer. We now trust that our product information is always accurate and up to date.
The Solution
The project began by moving Armaturjonsson’s entire product data model to Bluestone PIM, a composable, API-first platform built for speed and scale. The project involved both a technical transformation and a business process redesign. A critical component of the project was data migration. To ensure a smooth and accurate transition, we used our own Avensia-developed migration tool. This allowed us to carry out multiple controlled data migrations throughout the project to both test environments and production, ensuring quality and minimizing risk. It gave the team full control and confidence every step of the way, streamlining all activities. We also built a brand-new integration with Armatorjonsson’s ERP. Product data now flows from the ERP to Bluestone for enrichment and returns back again when updates are made. That means fewer manual steps and better consistency across platforms.
Other highlights included:
- A fully integrated setup with NOBB (the Nordic construction product database) using Bluestone’s standard connector. This has reduced both complexity and license costs.
- Easy data accessibility for Armaturjonsson’s CMS partner through Bluestone’s open APIs, enabling instant updates across digital touchpoints
- Full integration and management of product data to the ETIM Standard within Bluestone PIM through Avensia’s new ETIM extension, saving time, ensuring data quality and simplifying compliance.
The Results
Some of the most impactful results include
Optimized product data flows
With bidirectional data exchange between PIM and ERP, information is automatically synchronized, saving hours of work.
Instant updates across channels
Thanks to Bluestone’s powerful APIs, product changes in the PIM are now reflected on their website in near real time.
Improved NOBB integration with ETIM
The standard connector simplifies the process and ensures up-to-date, high-quality data across channels.
Scalable setup for growth
Their new solution is easier to scale, especially when acquiring new brands and adding them to the PIM.
Resource savings across platforms
The simplified architecture reduces time spent on manual tasks, freeing up resources company-wide.
Total cost of ownership
Armaturjonsson’s TCO has been reduced not just in the PIM setup, but across other connected platforms too.
Future Work
Looking ahead, Armaturjonsson and Avensia are planning to bring in more users from across the business to work directly in the platform. That means more roles, more collaboration and more opportunities to reuse data across channels. Expanding internal PIM usage will help Armaturjonsson leverage more of the platform’s capabilities, including creating automated product documentation.
One exciting area on the roadmap is document automation. Armaturjonsson handles large volumes of product information and technical documentation. By centralizing this data in Bluestone PIM, they aim to generate product PDFs directly from the PIM, which will enable faster content production and consistent output across channels.
And there’s more. With upcoming regulations and market demands for richer product content, AI will play a growing role. Armaturjonsson is preparing to use AI-powered enrichment to streamline how they meet new requirements and stay ahead of the curve.
With Bluestone PIM as our foundation, we’re well positioned to automate documentation, onboard new brands faster, and use AI to meet future regulatory and market demands.
